Lions and Lambs
Finally, big business is understanding that getting the health care monkey off their back is in their best interest. Now maybe something can actually happen?

I'd like to see the elimination of the middle man: insurance. Medicaid, Medicare, and the V.A. are all administered sans insurance, aren't they? The care is not the best, but that is because non of those entities is properly funded. I wish the government would set the standard of care for all and tell (not ask) the pharmaceutical and medical supply companies what they will get for their products. Some CEOs would take a hefty salary cut but I'm not crying over that.

Yes, medicare et al. are without the insurance companies. And frankly the care is just fine. I'm not sure whether it's improved or whether general health care has deteriorated. But in general, the care you get under government plans is fine, albeit it could also be improved with adequate funding as you suggest. And if it happens without insurance, they'll not just take pay cuts but lose jobs, which is ok with me.
