There's
a wonderful piece in Radar written by Jebediah Reed analysing the punditocrsy and their careers. He specifically looks at a group of pundits positions on the war in Iraq (at the beginning of the war) and then discusses their career trajectory.
Guess what.
As I discussed the other day, those who have been wrong are "surging" (if I might use that term) in their careers while those who have been, at least thus far, right about Iraq are on track to head to the toilet career-wise. An example? Bill Kristol who is still wrong about Iraq just got a plumb bit of space in Time magazine to write a column.
It really is important that this up-is-downism is corrected. Accountability in the media is crucial for a well-functioning democracy. Our media is currently as dysfunctional as our government.
