Ratchet Another Notch
Sure are a lot of stories out there about the evil Iran sending arms into Iraq. They all have the same fatal flaws, but that won't stop anyone from trying to sell papers and get ratings while maintaining their positions in the weenie line at the cocktail parties.

All the rhetoric is bad enough. But then I ran across this:
"'They intend to be as provocative as possible and make the Iranians do something [America] would be forced to retaliate for,'" says Hillary Mann, the administration's former National Security Council director for Iran and Persian Gulf Affairs U.S. officials insist they have no intention of provoking or otherwise starting a war with Iran, and they were also quick to deny any link to Sharafi's kidnapping. But the fact remains that "the longstanding war of words between Washington and Tehran is edging toward something more dangerous," states a Newsweek press release sent to RAW STORY. "A second Navy carrier group is steaming toward the Persian Gulf, and Newsweek has learned that a third carrier will likely follow."
The sourcing for this is a former administration official involved in Iranian affairs. Wow.

I've mentioned before that a third carrier group would greatly increase the odds of an attack, at least that what military thinkers have said. Three carrier groups apparently gives the full capability for the U.S. to instigate an air campaign against Iran.

Watching Bush is like watching a slow motion train wreck ..... except we're all on the train! Guess it's time to buy more oil futures ......
