Focus Failure
The focus group reviews on the new, improved Iraqi product must not have gone too well:
WASHINGTON -President Bush, wrapping up an intense effort that has led him to new course for
Iraq, will lay out his plan to a war-weary nation sometime early next year, the White House said Tuesday.

"It's not ready yet," said press secretary Tony Snow said.

Though it had been the president's desire to unveil what he has been calling his "new way forward" before Christmas, Bush told his staff Tuesday that it needed to wait, Snow said.
Hey. What's the hurry? Take your time. No problemo.

All the "listening" and solicitation of opinions is simply window dressing. The more news reports about "experts" with alternative points of view, the more diluted the impact of the Iraq Study Group. This give Bush cover to stay the course. Other than the death and mayhem staying the course creates, he simply has no other choice given the impact, particularly on him, of the other options.
