Impending Slaughter
Cheers to Paul and Heather McCartney.
Sir Paul and Heather McCartney waded into controversy yesterday with their campaign to highlight the clubbing of Canadian seal pups, writes Michael McDonough. The couple visited an ice floe off Canada's east coast, where in a few weeks' time hunters will begin bludgeoning and shooting the pups before skinning them.

The Humane Society applauds his efforts. The impending slaughter is highlighted on their website.
Last year, 98.5% of the seals killed were two months of age or younger. Veterinary reports indicate that many seals have been skinned while still conscious and able to feel pain. This year, the ProtectSeals team will expose the world of cruelty that takes place on the ice floes.

The hunt amounts to 5% of the fishermen's income. Stop by the Humane Society's site to learn more and the hunt and what steps you can take to stop it. We can stop this.
