Yucking It Up In The Senate
I just think it's really swell when those elected representatives share a private joke in public:
Sen. Lindsey Graham said he believes Judge Sam Alito when he says he doesn't remember certain parts of his murder boards.

Alito smiled appreciately.

Continued Graham: "And if any of us come before a court and say we can't remember Abramoff, you'll believe us."

"Abramoff who?" queried another Senator.

"Wasn't he the guy in the Bible?" asked a third.
Ha ha ha ha ha. Wasn't that funny?

Well, it would be except for one teensy weensy problem. Abramoff likely will (in some incantation) end up before the court. If not Abramoff, then certainly Plame. And given that little decision on the 2000 election, it's not so funny to think that a little cronyism could play a part in choosing a Supreme Court Justice.

Forgive me, but I just don't have much of a sense of humor anymore about the Republican controlled government. I don't find any of this inside the beltway crap funny.
