Some Lines Better Than Others
From Slate:
USA Today ...... leads with the government announcing it will begin its "trusted travelers" program in June: Air passengers who undergo background checks and fork over about $100 annually will get access to express lines and might not have to do things like remove their jackets or shoes. The ACLU is pissed about the program, saying the lines faced by lumpen travelers are "going to be longer."
Doesn't this just epitomize the government and the times? Now we wait in long lines to get on airplanes enduring virtual strip searches despite now allowing nasty looking scissors on board.

BUT.

But. If you register with government officials, they look over your creds and deem you acceptable, and you fork over an annual membership fee (quite reasonable compared to your average country club fees) you can do an O.J. through the airport.

This is wrong on so many levels.
