Exactly. What He Said.
John at Americablog is right on the mark:
All kidding aside, yeah, it's a big mo-fo deal if Iran gets nukes. Too bad we wasted the past 3 years attacking the wrong country, spending $300 billion we didn't have, wearing down our military, using up our munitions, and destroying any relationships we had with any of our allies, so that now when a real threat presents itself we don't have the resources to deal with it adequately.

Mistakes have consequences. I'm seriously glad George Bush is president for three more years. He created this mess. Let him get us out of it.

I do feel for whoever takes the office in 2008. Unless it's another Republican. I wonder about all those who voted for Bush in the belief that he had some respect for our military. What do they think now?
I also wonder if we really need a huge military/industrial complex. We seem to only use our military when attempting to build an empire.

I'm certain the Pentagon/Halliburton can hire condotierre to fight the Iran War if the neo-cons get to fulfill more of their bloodlust to aid the building of the Bush dynasty. Machiavelli had an opinion about hiring mercenary forces with no particular national or state allegiance: Unreliable. Frontline rebroadcast their pmc report last night concerning that fact. It's not like previous King Georges fared any better hiring Hessians to fight against American revolutionaries. Where could the proper numbers of troops be mustered except thru a draft if an actual on-the-ground shooting war erupts with Iran? For the sake of those throngs of folks with children nearing draft age who voted according to their "family values" for the Bush dynasty, they better hope diplomacy diminishes the Iranian threat. Americans love to learn hard lessons.
