She Let's Here Guard Down
Here's Hillary:
WASHINGTON, March 14 — Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton foresees a “remaining military as well as political mission” in Iraq, and says that if elected president, she would keep a reduced but significant military force there to fight Al Qaeda, deter Iranian aggression, protect the Kurds and possibly support the Iraqi military.

In a half-hour interview on Tuesday in her Senate office, Mrs. Clinton said the scaled-down American military force that she would maintain in Iraq after taking office would stay off the streets in Baghdad and would no longer try to protect Iraqis from sectarian violence — even if it descended into ethnic cleansing.

In outlining how she would handle Iraq as commander in chief, Mrs. Clinton articulated a more-nuanced position than the one she has provided at her campaign events, where she has backed the goal of “bringing the troops home.”
More nuanced my ass.

I never figured she really meant to get out of Iraq. She is simply behaving like so many politicians who believe that they know better than the voters. Whether she's just simply trying to appear muscular or whether she really believes it's a good idea to stick around in Iraq, it's a losing proposition. Continuing a military presence in Iraq is like having a festering wound that never heals. And pandering to voters with muscular messages is disingenuious.

Hillary is making it more difficult all the time for me to swallow her as the Democratic nominee. It's too early to really committ to anything, but this latest statment does not bode well.
