Friedman's In Afghanistan
Hearing all these estimates is ridiculous:
The Taliban are gaining ground in Afghanistan and government control is now "tenuous" over 20 percent of Afghan territory, the LAT reports on the front page. The paper says the next three to six months will be decisive.
Afghanistan is out of control now. It's a tribal nation with the "President" really the mayor of Kabul. Oh, and the hinterlands are still a refuge for terrarists ....
