The Little Boy and the Dike
How about this:
The New York Times leads with the GOP's decision to refocus campaign resources from Sen. Mike DeWine, R-Ohio, to Senate races with rosier prospects, leaving DeWine to fend for himself and, in the paper's view, effectively conceding the seat.
This sounds like an important story to me. The fact that the GOP would pull the plug on DeWine suggests that a) they are pretty sure that they will lose the House and b) are worried they're going to lose the Senate. The story suggests they're sending more money to shore up George Felix "Macaca" Allen who's in a dead heat now in Virginia. It would be a devastating defeat for Bush to face a Democratic majority in Congress.

UPDATE: Josh Marshall has a nice piece expanind on this bit of news here and offers some perspective on the overall Senate/House picture.
