RJ Eskow has an oped piece over at the Huffington Post:
Democrats who fought against third-party candidacies in past elections are now speaking openly about defecting to a new party should the Dems run Clinton/Obama or similar candidates, their present rhetoric unchanged. This is a real threat to the Democrats' chances in '08 and beyond.
If the Democrats are defeated in 2008, so be it. As they continue to morph into Republican Lite, people like me will defect to third party candidates. I'd rather vote for a Green than be faced with a Hobson's Choice of Republican or Republican Lite.
The Democratic leadership is just as out of touch with America as the GOP leadership is. They are all corporate shills. Average Americans have almost no representation. I say
almost because we still have Russ Feingold, the one Democrat who 'gets it' and the one Democrat the others hasten to distance themselves from.
Democrats, wake up. If you can't lead us where we need to go, we will find someone who will.
