Not Funny
The whole Islamic cartoon thing has become a huge international story. I don't really have an opinion one way or the other about the propriety of publishing the cartoon in a western paper. Both sides have a point. Papers have the right to publish what they like. But imagine a paper publishing a caricature of black person in the U.S. Right is not the same thing as good taste.

But to me, the more important issue is the reaction of the Islamic world. I suspect it's less about the cartoon. The cartoon is a symbol that symbolizes the tension between the west and the Islamic world. The publishing of a Islamic caricature is fueled in no small part by Jr. and his policies. If anyone thinks that the great Bush adventure in Iraq hasn't been like a turd in a punch bowl at the Islamic party, they are greatly mistaken.

It will literally take generations to repair the damage. And the damage will have to be repaired as the world gets ever smaller.
