Headlines to Ponder
I was perusing the news and ran across this story on retail sales:
NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. retailers posted disappointing December sales on Thursday, hurt by warm weather and procrastinating shoppers who waited for deep discounts before wrapping up their holiday purchases.
What? Warm weather screwed up shopping?

What they're trying push is the idea that people bought less winter wear because it's been warm. But how many times have you seen "cold snap hurts retail sales"?

This is a continuing part of the business community trying to spin any downturn as other than consumer's pulling back on spending. If the psychology of spenders begins to change to saving, the economy will be in real trouble. So instead, we have a plethora of spin-dry reasons for why numbers disappoint.
